The first time I've tried this is the air fryer, seems to cook better than in the oven to be honest, this really was first class. Veg and potatoes? no chance, thick gravy on top and eaten straight from the cooking dish. It could probably be scaled up to serve two if needed.
Health food it is not, weighing in at around 710 calories, very nice though, I enjoy cooking in the week but don't want to spend all Sunday doing a roast for one, this is a very time-efficient alternative.
Ingredients
2 Sausages (good ones)
2 Eggs
75g Plain Flour
90ml Milk
10ml Water
Pinch of Salt
Oil
Instructions
Preheat air fryer to 200°C
In a jug, beat the eggs and mix in the water and milk
Add the flour and salt and whisk until you have a smooth batter with no lumps
Leave the batter to rest for 20 minutes (this is important)
Cook the sausages in an oiled tray (at least 30mm deep) in the air fryer at 200°C for 6 minutes, they should start to brown slightly on top
Turn the sausages and pour in batter until halfway up them
Cook at 200°C for 13 minutes without opening the door, you can then check and cook for a further couple of minutes if needed
