Never tried this in the air fryer before, it worked very well and will be added to my list of regular breakfasts to give me another option. I have estimated it at around 245 calories.
There are loads of recipes for French toast, I used this one as it only includes ingredients which I usually have to hand.
Ingredients
2 slices medium thick bread
egg
40 ml milk
¾ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp vanilla extract
Cooking Instructions
Pre-heat the air fryer to 180°C
Beat the egg in a dish large enough to hold a slice of bread
Mix in the milk, cinnamon and vanilla extract
Soak the bread (I normally use wholemeal but any will do) in the mixture, I leave it in there for at least 20 seconds
Arrange in the air fryer basket so that the slices are not touching
Cook for at 180°C until done to your taste turning once part way through, I have found that 10 minutes works well for me
Serve immediately while warm
Tip: These are even better served with chopped fruit and a sprinkling of icing sugar on top.
