I've peeled away the years and learnt a new trick, not bad for an old dog.
Over my adult life, I must have peeled a lot of potatoes, every one of them with a small cheap knife.
A few days ago I was shopping in home bargains and a cheap peeler was whispering 'buy me, try me', so I did. I can't remember what it cost but it was certainly less than a pint so it probably doesn't count.
Last night it made its debut, given a go to prepare some potatoes to go with my steak, a rare mid-week treat (literally). Very good, less wasted potato, no slower, neater and no risk of cutting myself. There is no way back.
