Yellow Split Pea Soup

This makes a soup with a bit of 'bite' left in it as yellow split peas take a long while to completely break down while cooking. If you want a smooth soup you will need to choose a recipe cooked over a longer period.

30 minutes (exluding soaking)
4 servings @ 340 calories
Ingredients
1 tbsp oil
2 celery stalks
2 carrots
3 medium potatoes
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 chicken stock pot (or veg if you wish)
230g yellow split peas
Steps
Soak the spit peas, ideally for 12 hours but overnight as a minimum
Rinse the split peas
Chop all of the vegetables
Saute the onions and garlic in the oil (optional)
Add all ingrdients to the soup maker and fill to the 'max' mark with cold water
Cook using the SMOOTH setting
